Our Story At Meadow View Beef

We both grew up on a farm and enjoyed farming. In June of 1994 we, Danny and Regina Kauffman, got married and decided to continue on with what we enjoyed. We made hay to sell and started with 5 cows and calves on 30 acres of rented land, selling the cattle to local markets and the hay to equestrian stables.

Now we are a family of eight, with four boys, two girls, and five grandchildren. Rachel, the oldest daughter, and Dwayne and Keith, the two oldest sons, got married and moved on. Karla, Benson, and Bronson are at home on the farm.

We believe it is important to raise cattle the natural way to get the full health benefits, therefore, it is imperative to feed our cattle high-quality grass throughout their lifetime. Quality grass equals quality meat! Therefore, our goal is to provide the best grass possible for our 100% grass-fed cattle.

We as a family enjoy the taste, flavor, and benefits that we get from our homegrown beef. All of the beef that we sell are finished on the 80-acre home farm and on the rented property as well. Our goal is to provide healthy and great-tasting meat for families and clientele who are in search of the health benefits that it provides.

Advantages Of 100% Grass-Fed Beef

100% grass-fed beef is better for human health than grain-fed beef in ten different ways. This is according to the most comprehensive analysis to date. The 2009 study was a joint effort between the USDA and researchers at Clemson University in South Carolina. 

Compared with grain-fed beef, the 100% grass-fed beef was:

  • Lower in total fat
  • Higher in beta-carotene
  • Higher in vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol)
  • Higher in B vitamins thiamin and riboflavin
  • Higher in minerals calcium, magnesium, and potassium
  • Higher in total omega-3’s
  • A healthier ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids (1.65 vs 4.84)
  • Higher in CLA (cis-9 trans-11), a potential cancer fighter
  • Higher in vaccenic acid (which can be transformed into CLA)
